I’m trying to study for my Geology course and I need some help to understand this question.
We now know that the rigid lithosphere is broken up into plates that move on the more ductile asthenosphere. Part of the lithosphere is the outer crust and can be either ocean or continental crust. The difference between these two is related to the density of the rocks and this affects how thick they are and the difference in elevation.
In this assignment we are going to take a closer look at how and why continental and ocean crust “float” on the asthenosphere.
Make sure you read the preamble to the assignment before answering the questions.
You will need to print the last pages and do all your work on them and then submit photos of the completed pages. Make sure you put your name and student number on each page. Do not edit the assignment file!
