I’m stuck on a English question and need an explanation.

Be sure that your initial post is at least 200 words.

Answer the 2 questions

After reading the selections from Allen Ginsberg’s Howl, “A Supermarket and California,” and “America,” consider the following questions:

1). What do you think Ginsberg was trying to accomplish with Howl? What “social values” is he trying to question or bring up? Explain your thinking by referencing at least one key quote from the Howl selection.

Hint: Think about the 1950s combination of conformity and repression, post war.

2). With “A Supermarket in California” and “America,” what elements (besides the mention of his name) echo the spirit of Walt Whitman? What kind of poetic protests do you see in these poems?
